Source Design International LLC designs and develops automotive related products from the ground up with an emphasis on our Accelerate Development Process. We have a position available for a Computer 3D modeler with strong skills in 3D modeling software with solid modeling experience with 3D printing. The individual must be a highly talented and creative with strong skills in three-dimensional thinking for making real hands on solitons. This person will be part of a team of in-house professionals including licensed engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers and manufacturing managers.  You will be interacting with the various disciplines to design and construct projects at our facility's prototype lab, build rooms, injection machining room, spray booth, and assembly spaces. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop design ideas from basic concepts to fully detailed design solutions. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with customers to create innovative solutions. You will develop and use appropriate visualization skills (sketching, 3D modeling, rendering) to define and communicate product concepts. 

Responsibilities: Perform design functions, research, prototyping, translate customer’s needs, styling studies, concept generation with creative problem solving, translate sketches into 3 dimensional CAD drawings, organize the prototype processes plan, add details and units on the drawing, perform basic drafting for mechanical drawings by working with senior personnel to learn appropriate design techniques, have keen attention to detail, meet deadlines in a timely manner, perform other duties as assigned.

Position requirements include:
• Degree in related filed or related design discipline with 3-5 years’ experience
• Proficiency in 3D modeling, (SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion 360 only)

• Example of diverse creative work that demonstrates passion for design, is a big plus.

• Some in office time required  but lots of flexibility.

• Ability to create functional product concepts that appropriately address the user-context requirements 

• Exceptional 2D and 3D design skills and hands-on building.

• Understanding of design process and have successfully applied it to multiple projects 

• Strong problem solver whose thinking is both creative and strategic 

• Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment

• Compelling interest to learn manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methods

• Familiarity with hands-on building, plastics molding, fabrication, and other methods

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with sketching

• Comprehend production challenges and work with engineering teams towards production.

We have a position available for an Industrial Designer with strong skills in CAD software and solid modeling.  The Sky is the limit.  You must have an abundant mind set and believe there are no obstetrical. The individual must be a highly talented and creative individual with strong skills in three-dimensional thinking for product design.
