David Aliberti is the founder of Source Design International LLC. David uses a business management approach when developing products for his clients. He starts by understanding everything from their sales goals, mission statement, prototyping plan, and most importantly their customers. David utilizes a methodology he calls the ADP. Accelerated Development Process, which includes the key players: sales, marketing, engineering, design, and manufacturing to formulate profitable solutions with his clients.
David founded and sold his own start-up, Sterling Sports Cars LLC, an internationally known specialty sports car manufacturing company. He recently sold the company in 2017. David has corporate experience working for both well established companies and small venture capital start-ups. He assembled and managed design teams for several companies, steering one of his product design teams through sales growth from $89 million a year to over $300 million a year in sales in under 7 years. He holds a numerous patents, including design and utility patents. SDI is a proud member of SEMA, PRO, and ARMO. David's unique experience in both mechanical engineering and industrial design enhances his understanding of form and function from both angles. He has an extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and has worked directly with manufacturers internationally with a special focus on products made in USA. David has developed products for include: Harley Davidson accessories, Intel Corp., Calgon Carbon, Respironics, University of Pittsburgh Innovation Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, Innovation Works funded companies, Body Media, United States Flag Store, Polyconcept, GNC, and Haskell office furniture. David is an honors graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, and holds an Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Design.

SDI analyzes required information for projects and understanding of context, client needs, business strategy, market, emerging trends, and manufacturing methods is deliver successful profitable product solutions. We have a position available for a Computer 3D modeler with strong skills in 3D modeling software with solid modeling experience with 3D printing. The individual must be a highly talented and creative with strong skills in three-dimensional thinking for making real hands on solitons. This person will be part of a team of in-house professionals including licensed engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers and manufacturing managers. You will be interacting with the various disciplines to design and construct projects at our facility's prototype lab, build rooms, injection machining room, spray booth, and assembly spaces.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop design ideas from basic concepts to fully detailed design solutions. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with customers to create innovative solutions. You will develop and use appropriate visualization skills (sketching, 3D modeling, rendering) to define and communicate product concepts.
Responsibilities: Perform design functions, research, prototyping, translate customer’s needs, styling studies, concept generation with creative problem solving, translate sketches into 3 dimensional CAD drawings, organize the prototype processes plan, add details and units on the drawing, perform basic drafting for mechanical drawings by working with senior personnel to learn appropriate design techniques, have keen attention to detail, meet deadlines in a timely manner, perform other duties as assigned.
